ALBUM OF THE WEEK: Tropical Fuck Storm - "Inflatable Graveyard"
Gareth Liddiard - "The Bootlick Series Volume 1 (Live 2006-2016)" | Album Review
Protomartyr - "Formal Growth In The Desert" | Album Review
Protomartyr have returned with their strongest and most optimistic album yet. At least, optimistic for Protomartyr. Formal Growth in the Desert is their way of expressing art finding its way in a world increasingly infertile for creativity. It’s a testament to art’s ability to spring forth in spite of the ever-tightening economic restraints.
Pile - "All Fiction" | Album Review
Listening to All Fiction front to back, we are treated to an album of songs that tend to deviate from the typical rock band format. The energy of the album ebbs and flows, increasing the impact of the more energy-intense tracks. The guitar is not used as the centerpiece of songs, but its intensity is made all the more real when it does appear.
Kal Marks Discuss "My Name Is Hell," The Sopranos, Masks, & More | Feature Interview
Julia Jacklin - "PRE PLEASURE" | Album Review
Julia Jacklin’s songwriting can be so intimate and direct that it can be, at times, discomforting for the listener. She gives voice to many of our own unspoken thoughts. We mistakenly assume we’re alone in our feelings, but when Jacklin hits an emotional nerve, we’re reminded that many of our suppressed thoughts are universal.
Kal Marks - "My Name Is Hell" | Album Review
For future fans of Kal Marks, My Name is Hell will likely serve as a starting point, as it displays the band at their most accessible yet. Since its inception, Kal Marks has gone through many changes. My Name Is Hell is their first official release since Let The Shit House Burn Down in 2019, and in that time, there have been a few changes in the band.
Angel Olsen - "Big Time" | Album Review
“Out With The Bangs. In With The Twangs” reads an ad for the latest Angel Olsen album, Big Time. Country music enthusiasts will be thrilled to hear one of Indie’s best songwriters bring her talents to the genre, while fans of her music will be pleased to know that this album is not simply an Angel Olsen album dressed in western trappings.
Cola - "Deep In View" | Album Review
Cola started with friends trading song ideas and demos over the course of lockdown and what better time to announce new music then when you are retiring an old band? What resulted is the record Deep in View, and fans of Ought will be delighted to know that it has a very similar appeal, due to Darcy’s distinct vocal delivery style.

Writing music is a way of life for Erica Dunn. She currently fronts the band MOD CON, offers her unique writing and playing talents to Tropical Fuck Storm, and quietly strums pensive songs on a nylon string guitar for Palm Springs. Dunn spoke to Post-Trash about inspiration, music theory, and what’s next for her myriad of different projects.
Delia Meshlir - "Calling The Unknown" | Album Review
Emily Rose and The Rounders - "Emily Rose and The Rounders" | Album Review
MOD CON - "Modern Condition" | Album Review
Sloppy Jane - "Madison" | Album Review
Sloppy Jane has been evolving for years and is the brainchild of singer/composer Haley Dahl, who created the group when she was fifteen. This latest release along with the previous album seem like companion pieces, but where Willow took an Iggy Pop influenced proto-punk style, Madison is more grandiose.
Bad History Month + Nyxy Nyx - "Death Takes A Holiday"
It’s easy to tell when one group’s effort ends and the other begins as both artists have distinct styles. Bad History Month has lyric laden tracks versus the more drawn out vocalizations of Nyxy Nyx. Yet a strong, cohesive project is delivered on this split album. This is likely due to mutual admiration both artists have for each another.
Tropical Fuck Storm - "Deep States" | Album Review
Sweet Williams' Thomas House Discusses "What's Wrong With You," Spain vs Brighton DIY, and Three Reluctant Dudes | Feature Interview
Sweet Williams is the brainchild of Brighton’s Thomas House, a veteran of the DIY music scene and a musician whose drive to create is seemingly limitless. Post-Trash’s Dominic Acito connected with House via Zoom to discuss his writing process, the DIY scene in Spain, and his first experiences learning an instrument.
Gash - "Leftern" | Album Review
The catchy songwriting of Gash was on full display with their 2018 album haha and while it comes into play in moments on Leftern, it feels like less a focus on individual songs and more on the album as a whole. The record rewards repeat listening, with different aspects of the band’s writing revealing itself with each subsequent listen.
Sweet Williams - "What's Wrong With You" | Album Review
Sweet Williams occupies a unique space, taking influence from sludge, noise rock and following in the tradition of bands like Unwound and Lungfish. They have found a sweet spot. Though it’s tempting at times to compare them to one band or another, it’s clear that What’s Wrong With You defies any attempts at labelling this band.
