The Human Fly - "Trackstar" | Post-Trash Premiere

Indy500 part 1, the first (obviously) of the four releases planned for 2020, is preceded by single “Trackstar,” a driving track filled with subtle electronics that accentuate The Human Fly’s already eclectic sound. Mathis’ pop vocal chops are in full swing here, but there are also plenty of instrumental sections.

Old Table - "Sexual Reproduction (11 1/2 Year Anniversary Edition)" | Album Review

Old Table - "Sexual Reproduction (11 1/2 Year Anniversary Edition)" | Album Review

Old Table can sometimes be reminiscent of the music of Daniel Johnston or Guided by Voices in that the pop brilliance seems completely uncalculated- Will’s craft could better be described as song-channeling  than songwriting. Where Old Table differs from the aforementioned acts, though, is the lyrical content.

William Austin Clay - "Self-Love" Video | Post-Trash Premiere

“Self-Love” is a warped pop exportation accompanied by a drifting, playful video. In Clay’s words: “This exercise was a great learning experience for me as I began to understand pop production, sound design, composition, & songwriting on a fundamental level, taking the genre's various elements & altering them to fit within my own style.”

Birthday Ass + Toothbrush - "Live Split" EP | Post-Trash Premiere

Infinity Dance Complex - "Plea" | Post-Trash Premiere

The electronic project from Matt Anderegg (Mothers) flirts with synth pop, but is focused on mood and texture first and foremost; the complexities beneath the surface will have you bobbing your head and also scratching it (in a good way), trying to figure out the connections between all of the moving parts.

Ex-Gold - "E-X-E-P-1-4" EP | Post-Trash Premiere

Ex-Gold - "E-X-E-P-1-4" EP | Post-Trash Premiere

E-X-E-P-1-4 moves at an incredible pace, but even if it were double its length there still would not be a boring moment. There are head-bobbing guitar antics, noise breaks, and manically fast vocal trade-offs crammed into songs that range from one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half minutes.

Hah. - "All Your Bad Habits Talk Behind Your Back" LP | Post-Trash Premiere

The seven tracks on Hah.’s debut, all your bad habits talk behind your back, have a charming sense of humor tempered by a sobering melancholy. They’re kind of like the jokes you tell to make it seem like everything’s okay when you’re feeling anything but.
