Teenage Halloween has been an unstoppable force within the New Jersey scene since 2014, playing non-stop energetic live shows and touring relentlessly. Now, almost ten years later, the most fun band in New Jersey is back with Till You Return, the highly anticipated follow up to their self titled debut record.
Mutual Aid Records is a Massachusetts-based DIY label that is dedicated to highlighting hidden gems in niche and alternative music, much of these artists being based in the Northeastern US as well. One of the more recent releases is a wildly experimental split between Rong and The Cost ov Living, who are currently active in the MA scene.
Retaliation, Vermin Womb’s follow-up to 2016’s Decline turned out to be one of the heaviest releases of 2022. Fans of the band who haven’t heard this release yet will be ecstatic to find this to be not only some of the band’s most unrelenting material, but among of the most chaotic and brutal of last year.
Pennsylvania’s Collapsed Skull is a new three-piece powerviolence band featuring members of Full of Hell. Their sound on the jaw-dropping debut EP Eternity Maze is a sort of genre-salad that mashes together powerviolence, hardcore, grindcore, death metal, and harsh noise all broken up by hip-hop, spoken word, and acoustic samples.
