The “Intro” to Banana’s Post-Grunge Revival is the wall of noise you walk through as you enter this EP. In a movie, it would be the opening flyover shot, setting the scene for the heaviness that is to come. With it is a piercing melody that gives depth to the heaviness and breaks through it, much like Ursin’s lyrics in the ensuing songs.
All Aboard is the follow up to the stunning Here Comes Washer and truly a journey in itself. It begins with “Forget Everything,” which has a dreamy opening but then soon becomes distinctively Washer as Quigley’s vocals kick in, feel effortless, and seems to fit perfectly with the actual message or mood of each song.
Falco’s interesting and often humorous writing always seems to be accompanied by ear-shattering bass lines and resounding drums that would probably be intriguing enough on their own. The combination of these elements creates a truly spectacular and memorable album that many more people need to be listening to.
