Leaning heavily on Joe Gaudiana's knack for warped psych slithering its way into otherwise jangly pop, "Montreal" is energetic, full of delicate harmonies, and layered with fun.

"Surfboard," the album's first single is the type of sticky lo-fi that resonates with each new layer, from the programmed beats and twinkling guitars to Gaudiana's enigmatic vocals (demented melodic skips and harmonic pops included).

Rhode Island quartet Edgar Clinks often blend odd song structures with distinctive affability, and the video for “Algal Bloom,” off of their most recent full length reinforces this idea with gusto.
