Post-Trash Guide to SXSW 2016

by Dan Goldin (@post_trash_)

SXSW is next week and we're starting to get pretty excited. Breakfast tacos, fun in the sun, and of course... more great bands than one could possibly see over the span of five days. In the past few years we've been known to catch around fifty to sixty bands, always sure to check out old favorites and new bands alike. Hell, discovering new music is what the festival is all about and that pretty much coincides with our goals here at Post-Trash.

Are you ready for next week? If you're unsure who to see, let us be your guide as we offer our top picks for this year's festivities. As always, you can check out the complete list at SXSW's official site for all the "official" artists, though there's plenty of great bands to catch in an "unofficial" capacity too. If you're the type to put your trust in Post-Trash (and we do sincerely appreciate it), here is our guide... in glorious alphabetical order.

*Editor's note #1: If you take one thing away from this feature, go see J&L Defer. Hailing from Zürich, Switzerland, J&L Defer is Anita Rufer and Gabriele DeMario, the creative duo behind Disco Doom. The band are getting ready to release their full length debut later this year on Exploding In Sound Records and while we can't share any music just yet *trust us* when we say it's incredible... we're talking "album of the year" type stuff. Trust us, you're not going to want to miss them and this could be your only chance for quite some time.

**Editor's note #2: Post-Trash and Exploding In Sound Records are both doing shows. Post-Trash are getting down house show style at Todd's Mansion on Thursday, March 17th (RSVP) and EIS is teaming up with Stereogum at The Hole In The Wall on Friday, March 18th (RSVP). Both events are free to the public.

Come party with Post-Trash and Exploding In Sound Records and be sure to say hello if you see us.
